Two Poems
by Joshua Garcia

Daddy Poem

snakeskin
leather
taxidermy bird
feather
brass urn
horny goat weed
corn tortillas
dried skins
& sweat
bandanas
three leaf clovers
boots
cut grass & heat
sunscreen
makeup
accoutrements of vanity
a dog’s skull
lasers
flint
ultraviolet light
a photograph
tucked in
a stack of your books
I close
the tabs on my phone
& answer
yes I am with you
there was no
mystery then
none still
